Condition & History
This is an authentic early 1960s Oaklawn Camco Tuxedo 12" x 8" tom shell. This particular era features the highly coveted 4-ply Jasper shell construction with 4-ply reinforcement rings. The wood is in exceptional acoustic shape; dense, dry, and resonant, yielding a bright, clear tap-tone when the shell is struck.

The original Champagne Sparkle wrap is completely flat and tight with zero lift. It looks like it was wet sanded and buffed to a semi-gloss finish at some point. The interior also looks to have been repainted as well. The badge is missing, but the underlying wood is 100% pure vintage Camco tone.

My Thoughts
Early Camco shells built with Jasper wood are prized for a reason: the resonance is phenomenal. Since the wrap prep work is already done and the wood sings, this is the ultimate foundation to complete a build out matching Tuxedo outfit or convert into a incredible, hyper-resonant custom deep snare drum (though the purists out there would likely hang you for that one!)
